The Lost Vegas “Give Away”
“Greedy little people in a sea of distress
Keep your more to receive your less
Unimpressed by material excess
Love is free- love me - say hell yes.
Give it away give it away give it away now
Give it away give it away give it away now
Give it away give it away give it away now
Ooh... ooh yeah”
“Give it away” by The Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Cracker Jacks anyone? Giving away stuff for free is not such a new concept. Radiohead
certainly up dated the idea with the “pay what you want” release of “In Rainbows”
earlier this year. I ended up buying their CD for 2 reasons...
I thought the concept was brilliant.
I think that artists should be paid for their work no matter how rich or poor
they are.
2-I quickly decided that I would be the first photographer in the world to “Give
it away” and thus “The Lost Vegas Art Project” was born. After all what is a
little investment in time and money to secure your self a place in history ?
On another note, since digital photography became the norm in the my business,
you practically have to “give it away” anyways, and I would rather “give it”
to people who may enjoy it than to people who should pay for it but place no
value on it at all. Truly.
So please drop me a note at the email address provided and I will personally
send you a large file of any of the 11 images in the portfolio. If you need advise
on getting great prints from it I will help you there also.
Why? I would love to have my artistic work out in the world as much as possible.
Period.
So please take it. Use it. Manipulate it. Pass it around. I don’t care if you
sell it ? I ask for nothing in return. That is why I started this website.
Wanna buy something ? I am offering a Limited Edition (10 per image) - signed
and numbered, archival prints from this series. It is the first time in my career
that I have made my work available. Drop me a line and let me know why you want
to buy one and we can go from there. I have some beautiful signed posters for
sale also. There are T-shirts and mugs and stamps that you can buy on the on
line store. I even designed designed a skateboard that looks wicked.
Stay tuned for the release of “The Lost Vegas Art Project” Original Music CD
that I hope to have ready for the Holidays. Ho Ho Ho.
